Need motivation?

Motivation is drive. But what to do when your motivation lapses? We have 5 tips that will help you stay on track for the long haul.

1. Don’t lose sight of your goals

Why do you want to start boxing? Because you want to get in better shape overall, use boxing as strength training or because you are especially interested in martial arts? If you feel you are about to fall into the next motivation hole, don’t lose sight of why you started boxing. This trick works even better when you set yourself very specific goals from the get go. For example, “lose two kilos in three months” or “starting today, I want to do sports three times a week”.

2. Regularity becomes routine

Use the momentum of your start and vow to train regularly when you begin your fitness programme. Once you are up and running and have found your rhythm, doing sports will become a habit. And then you will really miss your workouts if you get sick or have to skip one because of an important meeting. The body gets so used to regular movement that it can no longer sit still after a while, forcing you to do some activity on a regular basis.

3. Train with a partner

4. Give yourself rewards sometimes!

5. FITspiration…

Depending on what type of person you are, sometimes it helps to be brutally honest about your own ‘status quo’. Do you think you are too fat? Then take a photo of yourself wearing your swimsuit and hang it in a very visible location, like on the refrigerator or your bathroom mirror. Embarrassing? Yes, but this way you remember every day why you want to do sports or eat less! Now that’s motivating! Sometimes all it takes is the right quote to rekindle the flame of motivation. Need motivation? We have collected a few of the top motivation quotes, one of which will perhaps reawaken your desire to start boxing:

#1: Pain is only weakness leaving the body!

#2: You will never regret working out, but you will if you skip out on training!

#3: When you think something is impossible, then look for a possibility.

#4: Taking the first step distinguishes the winners from the losers.
